Fluke Networks MicroScanner™ PoE Cable Verifier
MicroScanner™ PoE takes the confusion out of PoE installation by providing quick and easy PoE verification.
This tester detects the available PoE class (0-8) according to the latest PoE standards and displays the voltage from the passive PoE source. Everything a cable technician needs to know, including available services (up to 10G Ethernet), cable length, cable map, cable ID, and distance from faults are all displayed on the LCD screen.
Built-in IntelliTone digital and analog sounder accurately finds virtually any cable or pair of cables, even on an active network.
Ergonomic design with a combination of slim molded rubber for increased grip and toughness.
Includes MicroScanner™ Power over Ethernet (POE) cable tester with removable cable map adapter, getting started guide (10 languages), 2 AA alkaline batteries, carrying case, and one-year warranty.
Features
- PoE Report Class (0-8)
- Featuring network switch speed capabilities up to 10G
- Ethernet Alliance certified to IEEE-802.3™ standards
- Displays cable length, cable map, and distance from fault.
- Find and trace cables by sound (probe sold separately)

Test Mode |
|
Cable testing | Measure length, verify cable maps, identify Remote ID locators, and detect Ethernet ports. The PoE MicroScanner™ will also indicate HIGH Ω if the cable resistance is greater than 12.5 Ω. Displays results on one screen. |
Signal sound | Generates IntelliTone™ signals and normal analog sound signals. |
PoE | PoE MicroScanner™: Discovers and detects the presence of PoE devices compatible with 802.3af, at, bt, and UPOE (Cisco Universal Power over Ethernet) |
Performance Specifications |
|
Type of cable tested | Twisted pairs: UTP, FTP, SSTP |
Long test | Range: 460 m (1,500 ft) Resolution: 0.3 m (1 ft) Typical accuracy: ± 4% or 0.6 m (2 ft), whichever is greater. NVP uncertainty is an additional error. Calibration: User-settable NVP for twisted pairs. Can determine actual NVP with known cable length. |
Cable map testing | Detects single-wire faults, short circuits, cable faults, split pairs, and up to seven adapter IDs with far ends. The cable map is drawn with proportional lengths to visually show the approximate location of the fault. |
Ethernet port detection | PoE MicroScanner™: Detects advertised 802.3 Ethernet port speeds of 10 Mbps, 100 Mbps, 1 Gbps, 2.5 Gbps, 5 Gbps, and 10 Gbps. |
Signal Sound Generator | Supports audible signaling and cable mapping with Fluke Networks digital IntelliTone™ probes. Produces four audible signals compatible with typical analog probes. The SmartTone™ feature provides positive cable identification in bundles when using analog or IntelliTone probes. |
